We always refer to striving for academic excellence at Haileybury Rendall School. I believe this is realised when students, teachers and parents work together to help provide the perfect learning environment for each child. This then results in our learners being able to be the best version of themselves. This means that excellence does not have to be an A+ for every student. Always try your hardest to be your best.
However, some of our students find that their version of academic excellence is simply the best! Haileybury Rendall School is again celebrating the outstanding achievement of our School Captain 2020, Tippipon Morgan (Tippi) who was chosen last week to receive a Victorian Premier’s VCE Award. Of the approximately 50,000 VCE students in 2020, Tippi received this accolade for her perfect performance in Indonesian. She was also the Dux of our school and her phenomenal ATAR had her ranked second across all students in the Northern Territory.
Last year was the second year that Haileybury Rendall School students completed the VCE and to have a student recognised with such a prestigious award is a remarkable achievement.
Tippi was taught by one of our current Indonesian teachers, Mr Sayle Johnston, who remembers her approach to learning with much pleasure: “The Premier's Award is a well-deserved recognition of the hard work and passion that Tippi put into her Indonesian studies in 2020. Tippi was committed to increasing her Indonesian language fluency and pursued every opportunity to extend herself by seeking out feedback to improve her work, conversing with Indonesian peers and entering language competitions. Most importantly she never lost her deep curiosity to learn and held a strong belief that hard work would pay off I am thrilled she has received this further recognition – a great role model to all our students.”
It is timely to recognise and acknowledge the dedication and hard work of our entire staff who regularly go above and beyond to ensure our students receive a world class education. We are all very proud of Tippi for this wonderful achievement and I hope this inspires fellow students to work hard and aim high.
