Shooting Stars

What a way to start Term 4 and finish 2024!

Stars have already had an action packed start to Term 4 with the hosting of our annual end of year Stars Presentation Awards Night. It was a great turn out of our amazing Stars students, their families and supporting school staff. Leah (Year 10) and Daisha (Year 8) MC'd the event with style and class. The photo slide show had the crowd laughing with big belly laughs and crying with happy tears! Eight lucky and hard-working Stars students were honoured with awards for their commitment to their schooling by having high attendance and excellent academic grades, whilst also honouring students who worked hard to display and uphold the Stars values of Respect, Honesty, Commitment and Pride! Congratulations to all award winners on the night and an even bigger congratulations to the 10 Stars students that graduated Year 12! This year's cohort is the largest group so far with most of our graduates being the first in their families to graduate. What an amazing achievement. Reach for the Stars ladies, the world is yours!!

Makayla (Year 12), Mia (Stars Alumni, Casuarina Senior College) and Amanda (Stars Program Coordinator), were lucky enough to be invited down to Melbourne by Stars Partners, Ampol, and the AFLW Carlton Football Club. Makayla and Mia got to experience the life of an AFLW player and rubbed shoulders with big names of the club such as Kirby Bentley (former AFLW Player) and Eddie Betts (former AFL Player) and getting VIP access to watch the mighty Carlton Blues play the Essendon Bombers for the AFLW Indigenous Round. Makayla was also lucky enough to meet this artist of this season's Indigenous playing jersey for the Carlton FC, Stewart James! What an amazing experience.
