Engaging visits and exciting activities

This term we have had many visitors come through our Stars doors. From reptile friends to our friends from the Police force.

NT Police came for a visit to chat to our Year 9s about careers in Policing. The visit was insightful, and we were able to try on some of the Police uniforms. Year 9 Stars Jaylarnie, Tyanne, Natalina, Denita, and Laweena had so much fun trying on the uniforms that it ended up being a fashion parade.

Our Stars Volleyball Carnival is in Week 9 this term, so we have been training hard all term in preparation to play against the other Stars programs from around the Top End. From trainings at Dripstone Middle School, Nightcliff Middle School and beach volleyball every Friday morning at Casuarina Beach, the girls have been sharpening their skills. The highlights have been meeting new girls from other Stars programs and the unreal sunsets over Casuarina Coastal Reserve. Definitely worth the early starts.

In Week 6, during our Friday morning activity, the girls were introduced to tennis by the lovely Grace from Tennis Australia. The girls enjoyed some fun tennis games that Grace taught us and then some friendly competition at the end with the Zombies vs Humans game. Quatisha (Year 8) came out victorious and had bragging rights for the rest of the day. The girls have really taken on the Stars’ pillars of Commitment and Pride, everyone has been committing and having a go!
