Celebrating excellence at HRS Clontarf
The annual Clontarf Awards night celebrated another successful year for our Academy, with families of our Year 12s travelling to see their son’s graduate Year 12. Families travelled great distances, coming from communities such as Timber Creek, Yarralin, Borroloola and Kalano. In the presence of HRS staff, friends, families, peers, and Clontarf partners, our Academy Members stood proud and tall as we celebrated their year.
The awards night also provided an opportunity to honour eight outstanding individuals who excelled in different areas throughout the year. Congratulations to the following Academy Members on their awards: Bronson (Year 9) for the Attendance Award, Hank (Year 11) for the Employment Award, Angas (Year 9) for Junior Leadership Award, Max (Year 12) for the Senior Leadership Award, Will (Year 7) for the Junior Academic Award, Rahiri (Year 12) for the Senior Academic Award, Ricco (Year 9) for the Junior Clontarf Spirit Award and Jaren (Year 12) for the Senior Clontarf Spirit Award.
We congratulated our four graduating Year 12s, Rahiri, Maxirrick, Relton and Robin, on their fantastic achievements. All four young men have grown considerably in their time at HRS, with Max and Rahiri spending the past 6 years of schooling here. Throughout their time at HRS they have been significant leaders within the school, holding positions such as boarding prefect or school football captain. The speeches that all the award winners and Year 12s made were powerful and poignant, with many laughs had and tears shed across the night.
Well done to Tylar (Year 10) on being our MC for the night. It’s an important task and shows great courage. As well, thanks to Hank (Year 11) for doing the Acknowledgement of Country and Cooper (Year 11) for looking after our presentation.
It's been a great year for our HRS Academy and the Awards night served as the perfect opportunity to reflect on this. Well done lads – you have made us all incredibly proud.
