We are so happy to have reconnected with our Haileybury Rendall School community in the last few weeks with many exciting events.
Last Saturday evening we held our second annual Family Movie Night!
Over 380 parents, students and friends attend to watch the movie, Peter Rabbit in the Middle and Senior School quadrangle.
It was great to see so many families enjoying each other’s company and doubling last year’s crowd!
Many families brought picnic meals to the night however, for those who wanted a special treat there were some fantastic food trucks available.
The queue at the Curled Ice Cream did not shorten all evening and was still quite lengthy when the movie finished!
A big thank you to Mrs Kerry Glass and her team for organising the event. Thank you to the staff and students who volunteered to help on the night.
We’re sure the Family Movie Night will be a regular event in the calendar for many years to come!
The Middle School Academic Award Assembly for Semester 1 celebrated student achievement with the top 15% of students receiving a Colour award and the next 15% receiving a Merit.
All students were encouraged to continue to do their best to continue to earn academic accolades in the future. Parents were invited to attend to celebrate their child’s achievements and it was lovely to gather together once again.
The Senior School Academic Awards also recognized students who were recipients of Academic Merit and Colours Awards, as well as VCE and Subject Awards in Semester 1.
There was also lots of celebration for extracurricular activities including the Mathematics Competition and Northern Territory Literary Awards.
Senior School students Tippipon Morgan and Peter Susanto, along with Year 12 English teacher, Dr Susannah Ritchie were shortlisted as finalist in the writing competition, showcasing the great talent at our School.
VET students – Lloyd Raymond and Matthew Rawlinson were presented with their qualifications for Certificate II in Automotive. Congratulations to all students who continue to pursue excellence in their studies.
We also had our Music Department’s Ensemble Evening, a wonderful night showcasing the continued growth and quality of the Haileybury Rendall School Music program.
The ensembles included the Junior School Choir, Concert Band, Guitar Ensemble and the String Ensemble.
Over the last three years, the program has grown enormously, with credit to the Head of Music, Claire Crocombe and her wonderful team and the commitment of our students.
Congratulations to all the students who have shown persistence and hard work to develop their music skills.
All students are encouraged to learn an instrument and join an ensemble.
The students will now commence building towards their performances for Speech Night at the end of the year where they have the wonderful opportunity to perform at the Darwin Entertainment Centre.
