Two Haileybury Rendall School students have been announced as finalists for the 2020 Northern Territory Literary Awards!
Congratulations to School Captain Tippipon Morgan (Year 12) and Peter Susanto (Year 11) who have been shortlisted for their outstanding writing.
Peter and Tippipon each wrote a short story in the ‘Kath Manzie Youth Award’ division and were selected from over 190 submissions across the Territory this year.
Peter’s story is titled ‘The Visit’ and Tippipon’s story is titled ‘Pudding’.
Head of English, Susannah Ritchie has also been shortlisted for her creative non-fiction piece in the ‘Charles Darwin University Creative Non-Fiction Award’ division, titled ‘Mother’s Day’.
A great role model for her Year 9 and 12 students!
These annual awards celebrate the achievements of established and emerging Northern Territory writers.
Winners will be announced and presented with their prizes at a ceremony held at the Northern Territory Library later in the year.
Winners and finalists will have their work published in an annual publication that will be available online or in print at the Library & Archives NT venues.
The Haileybury Rendall School community is incredibly proud of Peter, Tippipon and Susannah’s efforts. This is a big achievement and wonderful display of the talent of our great School.
